The first child has been born today in the family of the «Spartak» goalkeeper Stipe Pletikosa.
It has happened in Split at 4 p.m. Stipe has learnt about the birth of his son a bit later — after the evening training.
— From the bottom of the heart we congratulate you on the birth of your first-born! How are mum and kid doing now? — Thank God, everything’s ok. Both Angela, kid are all right. I can even tell you by secret that the weight of Franco is three and a half kg, and the growth — fifty centimetres.
— In honour of whom was the kid named? — In honour of my dad who, to the greatest regret, died last year…
During the dinner the happy father was congratulated by Valery Karpin, his assistants and the team-mates. In honour of a birth of son Pletikosa has been given an «extraordinary holiday»: tomorrow Stipe takes off for Croatia. He will return to Moscow practically simultaneously with our team — on February, 23rd.
